Sustainability

Cantine Goretti has always made environmental protection one of the cornerstones of its company philosophy. Every decision taken is guided by the pursuit of maximum grape quality, without compromising the health of the vines and soil fertility. The difference in Goretti productions lies in the care and safeguarding of the territories where the vines take life and develop, with the aim of passing on to future generations a company and an environment rich in resources.

The concept of environmental sustainability, for Cantine Goretti, translates into the practice of “Lutte Raisonnée” or “reasoned struggle”. This approach to viticulture involves the use of chemical substances in a less invasive way compared to conventional methods, adhering to the integrated production regulations of the Umbria Region (Section “Phytosanitary defense and weed control” – Year 2018-2019, approved with Management Decision no. 3288 of 08/04/2019).

The constant pursuit of innovation with respect for the environment is reflected in the investments made by Cantine Goretti in renewable energy. Currently, two photovoltaic systems power the company’s daily activities making it energy self-sufficient for more than 80% and significantly reducing Co2 emissions, while the vehicles used in the local market are completely electric.

The company has further enhanced its ecological footprint by installing electric charging stations to also provide energy to its customers’ vehicles. To facilitate sustainable mobility, the Winery uses NEXTCHARGE, a free application that allows users to locate electric charging stations. In just a few moments, it is possible to view the nearest charging stations, wherever you are, thus helping to promote responsible use of energy.

In recent years, the company’s commitment to sustainability has extended beyond internal activities, influencing the selection of suppliers. The choice of commercial partners is made based on their sensitivity and commitment to sustainability, whether they are suppliers of bottles, corks, boxes or transporters.
